RHRA elects Jonathan Boulakia to its Board of Directors
John J. Rossiter, Chair of the RHRA Board of Directors, is pleased to announce the election of Jonathan Boulakia to the RHRA Board, effective December 10, 2019. As Chief Legal Officer of Chartwell Retirement Residences, Mr. Boulakia brings a wealth of legal and governance knowledge that will complement the existing expertise of the RHRA’s strong board membership.
Mr. Rossiter would like to thank Carla Peppler and Mathilde Bazinet for their service to the RHRA during their nine years on the RHRA Board of Directors. Both Ms. Peppler and Ms. Bazinet’s contributions have been instrumental in guiding the RHRA in its mission to encourage compliance, reduce harm, support residents and families in making informed choices and to enable a strong and diverse sector.
RHRA is governed by a nine-person Board of Directors, including four members appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council and five members elected through a nomination process by the board. The Minister for Seniors and Accessibility designates a Chair of the Board from among the Directors. The board consists of a mix of retirement home industry representatives, consumers, business representatives, government and government organizations.
