The RHRA releases compliance guidance on Interdisciplinary Care Conferences
March 19, 2026
We are pleased to share our new Interdisciplinary Care Conference Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) resource. Developed in response to sector questions, this FAQ provides clarity on when an interdisciplinary care conference is required, who should participate, how it should be documented, and other common questions.
As per the Regulation, all licensed retirement homes are required to hold an interdisciplinary care conference for any resident who may require dementia care, skin and wound care, or the use of a personal assistance services device (PASD). The FAQ outlines these requirements to support awareness across the sector.
The resource is intended to support consistent application of legislative requirements and reinforce resident-centred practices. It also includes information that can assist retirement homes in meeting compliance.
We encourage you to review the FAQ and use it as a reference to support interdisciplinary care conferences in your retirement home. A QR code is included in the document to make it easy for you to share your thoughts and highlight any areas where further clarity may be helpful.
