RHRA Welcomes New Deputy Registrar
March 8, 2024
We are pleased to announce that Anastasia Shiamptanis will join the RHRA as Deputy Registrar, effective April 1, 2024.
Anastasia comes to the RHRA from the New Brunswick College of Pharmacists, where she served as the Registrar and CEO. In this role, Anastasia acted as the primary regulatory decision-maker, oversaw the development of the regulator’s latest five-year strategic plan and championed relationship building with industry stakeholders and government.
Anastasia brings a passion for seniors’ care which has been a driving force for her since early in her career when she provided direct patient care in geriatric rehab and psychiatry. Her direct care experience and interest in systemic issues led to roles with the Ontario College of Pharmacists in strategic policy, and teaching at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at University of Toronto. Anastasia holds a Doctor of Pharmacy in addition to a Master’s in Health Science.
Anastasia is enthusiastic about providing her hands-on leadership to help us meet the objectives of our strategic plan and working with our licensees and stakeholders to support our mandate of protecting Ontario retirement home residents. In her capacity as Deputy Registrar, Anastasia will oversee RHRA’s core regulatory functions including licensing, complaints adjudication, inspections, investigations and enforcement among her other responsibilities.
RHRA’s current Deputy Registrar, Wade Hillier, is remaining with the organization and will support transition to Anastasia while taking on new responsibilities. RHRA is updating its website and will have updated information on its management team shortly.
